Steve Gadd & Chuck Mangione, Earthquake Relief Concert Dec. 1980

Chuck Mangione composed "The XIth Commandment" for Stephen Gadd, who gave the world premiere performance during his percussion graduate recital on February 16, 1968 at the Eastman School of Music.

"The XIth Commandment" first appeared on Mangione's Feel So Good album (1977).

On December 27, 1980, Chuck Mangione put on an Italian Earthquake Relief Concert at The Americana Hotel Ballroom in Rochester, New York. The evening's performance included a very different version of The 11th Commandment from the one you hear on Feel So Good.  "The XIth Commandment Suite", with Steve Gadd on drums, was one of many songs eventually released on Mangione's two-LP set entitled Tarantella.

Here's my transcription, along with an audio example, of the 48-bar drum solo that Steve Gadd plays towards the end of "The XIth Commandment Suite".
