Taylor Hawkins, born Oliver Taylor Hawkins on February 17, 1972 in Fort Worth, Texas, is an American musician best known as the drummer of the American rock band, Foo Fighters.
Prior to joining Foo Fighters in 1997, Hawkins was the touring drummer for Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill and Can't Not tours, as well as performing in a progressive experimental band, Sylvia.
Hawkins died on March 25, 2022 in Bogotá, Colombia. After complaining of chest pain, emergency services was called to his hotel room. They found him unresponsive and was pronounced dead on the scene. The following day, March 26, 2022, Colombian authorities stated that ten substances, including opioids, benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants, and THC, the psychoactive compound in cannabis, where found in his system. Foo Fighters have cancelled all upcoming concert dates following the death of Hawkins.
