BIOGRAPHY
Omar Hakim, born February 12, 1959 in New York City, New York, is an American jazz-fusion/pop drummer, probably best known for his work with Weather Report and Sting.
Hakim has worked with the likes of Anita Baker, David Bowie, Chic, Dire Straits, Mariah Carey, Miles Davis, Everything but the Girl, Bryan Ferry, Madonna, Mike Mainieri, Bobby McFerrin, Marcus Miller, The Rippingtons, Lee Ritenour, Carly Simon, Sting, Kazumi Watanabe, Weather Report, Aziza Mustafa Zadeh, and numerous others.
In 1993, Omar released two educational videos, Express Yourself and Let It Flow, which are now available on DVD as Omar Hakim: Complete.
In March 2014, Omar released his first album in over 14 years, We are One.
